U.S. plans to push global agenda for financial overhaul

U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, who will meet with other finance ministers and central bankers this week in South Korea, said the U.S. plans to encourage major economies to help "restore fiscal sustainability over the medium term" through a financial-reform agenda. "That is a shared imperative," Geithner said. "We all recognize it." Specifically, Geithner will press for derivatives-trading restrictions, capital and liquidity requirements, and improved transparency.
